Susan, Duchess of Richmond & Gordon 1932-2023

 Susan, Duchess of Richmond & Gordon, widow of the 10th Duke, and for many years chatelaine of Glorious Goodwood, has died aged 90.

She was born 26 July, 1932, as Susan Monica Grenville-Grey, daughter of Colonel Cecil Everard Montague Grenville-Grey, CBE (1899-1973), and his wife the former Louisa Monica Morrison-Bell (1903-2003), scion of the Morrison-Bell baronets; and married 26 May, 1951, the then Charles Henry Gordon-Lennox, styled Earl of March and Kinrara (born 19 Sept, 1929), son and heir of the 9th Duke of Richmond & Gordon (1904-1989), and his wife the former Elizabeth Grace Hudson (1900-1992). Her husband succeeded his father, 2 November, 1989, as 10th Duke of Richmond (Peerage of England), Duke of Lennox in the Peerage of Scotland, Dud de Aubigny (in France), 7th Duke of Gordon (Peerage of the UK), Earl of March (Peerage of England), Earl of Darnley (Peerage of Scotland), Earl of Kinrara (in the Peerage of the UK), Baron Settrington, of Settrington in the County of York (Peerage of England), Lord Torbolton (in Scotland), and Hereditary Constable of Inverness Castle, &c. 

The 10th Duke, who was Lord Lieutenant of West Sussex, 1990-94, died 1 September, 2017.

The duchess leaves issue, a son, Charles, the 11th Duke (born 8 Jan, 1955), and daughters, Ellinor, Maria, Naomi, and Louisa (Maria and Naomi were adopted).
