Sir Brian Patrick McMahon, 8th Baronet 1942-2018
Brian Patrick McMahon was born 9 June, 1942, the elder son of Sir William Patrick McMahon, 7th Baronet [1900-1977], by his wife the former Ruth Stella Kenyon-Slaney [1909-82], scion of the Barons Kenyon.
He succeeded to the baronetcy on the death of his father, 5 January, 1977.
Sir Brian married in 1981 [divorced 1991], Kathleen Joan Hopwood. No issue of the marriage.
Sir Brian was predeceased by his younger brother, and heir presumptive, Shaun Desmond McMahon, and the title, created in 1817, now passes to a nephew, Patrick John Westropp McMahon, who was born 7 February, 1988.

Flora Vigors is a daughter of David Henry Charles Gordon Lennox (b 1935), of Saxham Hall, Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, by his wife the former Elizabeth Stirling, daughter of Sir William Gurdon Stirling, GCB, CBE, DSO.

Jennifer Baroness Plunket 1929-2018
She was the former Jennifer Bailey Southwell, daughter of Bailey Southwell of Crocodile Leap Farm, Olivenhourpoort, South Africa, and married the then Hon Robin Rathmore Plunket, 8 Nov, 1951. Her husband was a younger son of the 6th Baron Plunket (1899-1938), by his wife the former Dorothe Mabel Lewis. Her husband succeeded his brother in the peerage, 28 May, 1975, and died 16 Nov, 2013, when he was succeeded by his younger brother, Shaun, the present peer.
Funeral at St Margaret's, Westminster on Monday 5th February 2018.

Elizabeth Mary Bird {nee Vavasour} 1917-2018
Elizabeth Mary Vavasour was born 13 Aug, 1917, the elder daughter of Sir Leonard Pius Vavasour, 4th Baronet (1881-1961), by his wife the former Ellice Margaret Nelson (d 1965); married firstly, 6 Apr, 1940, Lt Michael John Priaulx Walters, RN, younger son of Lt-Col Hubert Walters, of Guernsey. Her first husband was killed in action in April, 1941. She married secondly, 19 Sept, 1942, Brigadier Garth Raymond Godfrey Bird, son of Herbert William Bird, and had issue by both marriages.
The funeral takes place at St Thomas of Canterbury Church, Mayfield, Friday 2 February, 2018.

Dowager Marchioness of Normanby (1920-2018)
She was born the Hon Grania Maeve Rosaura Guinness, 14 Apr, 1920, daughter of the 1st Baron Moyne (1880-1944), by his wife the former Lady Evelyn Erskine, daughter of the 14th Earl of Buchan, and married 10 Feb 1951, Oswald Phipps, 4th Marquis of Normanby, sometime Lord Lieutenant of North Yorkshire, by whom she had issue, two sons and five daughters. The elder son, Constantine, born in 1954, is the 5th Marquis.
Requiem Mass to be held at St Hedda’s RC Church, Egton Bridge, near Whitby, North Yorkshire at 12 noon on Wednesday 24th January, 2018.

Baroness Ross of Marnock 1923-2018
The Baroness Ross of Marnock, died 4 January, 2018, aged 94.
The former Elizabeth Jane Elma Aitkenhead was born 6 March, 1923, daughter of J. Aitkenhead, of Ayr, and married in 1948, William Ross (born 7 April, 1911), later Baron Ross of Marnock, MBE, PC, who was the longest serving Secretary of State for Scotland, holding office from 1964–1970 and again from 1974–1976, throughout the premiership of Sir Harold Wilson.
Her husband represented Kilmarnock until the 1979 general election, when he was created a life peer as Baron Ross of Marnock, of Kilmarnock in the District of Kilmarnock and Loudoun.
She was widowed, 10 June, 1988. She leaves two daughters.

Michael John Hare was born 25 January, 1938, son of the 1st Viscount Blakenham (1911-82), by his wife the former Hon Beryl Nancy Pearson (1908-94), scion of the Viscounts Cowdray; married 12 Jan 1965, his cousin, Marcia Persephone Hare, a granddaughter of the 4th Earl of Listowel, by whom he had issue.
Lord Blakenham is succeeded in the viscountcy by his only son, the Hon Caspar Hare (b 8 Apr, 1972).

The Baroness Hemingford, OBE (1933-2018)
She was the former Jennifer Mary Toresen Bailey, daughter of Frederick William Bailey, of Kent Rd, Harrogate, and married then then Hon (Dennis) Nicholas Herbert in 1958. He succeeded to the peerage (cr 1943) in 1982.
Lady Hemingford leaves a son and three daughters, and twelve grandchildren.
The funeral is at St Margaret's Church, Hemingford Abbots, Wednesday 17 January, 2018.

It was as Mary Briggs that in 1993 she wed Richard Hambro, second son of Jocelyn Olaf Hambro (1919-94), by his 1st wife the former Ann Silvia Muir (d 1972). He died 25 April, 2009.
Richard Hambro had married 1stly, 1973 (div 1982), the Hon Charlotte Clementine Soames (b 17 Jul 1954, who married 2nd 15 Apr 1989, the 3rd Earl Peel), dau of the Baron Soames (life peer) (1920-87), by his wife the former Mary Spencer-Churchill (b 15 Sept 1922), dau of the Rt Hon Sir Winston Leonard Spencer Churchill (1874-1965); married 2ndly, 1984 (div 1992), Juliet Mary Elizabeth Harvey, daughter of Major Thomas Cockayne Harvey by his wife the former Lady Katharine Mary Coke, dau of the Earl of Leicester.

He served in the Royal Scots Greys; Major General 1984; member of the Queen's Body Guard for Scotland (Royal Company of Archers), &c.
Charles Alexander Ramsay was born 12 Oct, 1936, the second son of Admiral Sir Bertram Home Ramsay, KCB, KBE, MVO (1883-1945), by his wife the former Margaret Helen Menzies.
His father was Naval Commander-in-Chief of the Allied Expeditionary Force, who was killed in an aeroplane accident in France, 2 Jan, 1942.
He married 1 Aug, 1967, the Hon Mary Margaret Hastings MacAndrew (b 1942), daughter of the 1st Baron MacAndrew, by his second wife the former Mona Mitchell. He leaves a widow and two sons, William and Charles, and two daughters, Rowena and Camilla.
