Nicholas Charles Tilman Barclay

Rose C.M. Barclay (b 1979 nee Troughton), wife of Piers D. Barclay, gave birth to a son, Nicholas Charles Tilman, 15 June, 2009, a brother for Beatrice Angela Sarah, who was b 29 July 2007. Piers is the younger son of the late Mrs Angela Barclay, of London, and Rose is the elder daughter of Peter Troughton, of Upper Wanborough, Swindon, Wiltshire, by his wife the former Sarah Rose Colman (b. 1953), sometime Lady-in-Waiting to HRH The Duchess of Kent.
Rose is a granddaughter maternally of Sir Timothy Colman, KG, by his wife the former Lady Mary Cecilia Bowes Lyon (b. 1932) sometime Lady-in-Waiting to HRH Princess Alexandra, the Hon Lady Ogilvy. Lady Mary Colman is a sister of the late 17th Earl of Strathmore & Kinghorne, and a cousin of Queen Elizabeth II.

The marriage took place, 30 May, 2009, at Snettisham, Norfolk, between Nicholas Peter Pettman (born 1974), son of David Pettman, by his wife the former Jennifer Mosse, and the Hon Laura Jane Fellowes (b 19 Jul 1980), descended from the Viscounts Hampden, dau of the Baron Fellowes, GCVO (b 1941), life peer, former Private Secretary to Her Majesty the Queen, by his wife the former Lady (Cynthia) Jane Spencer (b 11 Feb 1957), dau of the late 8th Earl Spencer, MVO (1924-92), by his wife the former Hon Frances Ruth Burke Roche (1936-2004), dau of the 4th Baron Fermoy.

The bride is a niece of the late Diana, Princess of Wales and a first cousin of the Princes William and Harry.

She was b 7 Oct 1921, as Helen Alice Douglas, scion of the Earls of Morton, only dau. of Hon Charles William Sholto Douglas, of Back Bridge, Malmesbury, Wiltshire (2nd son of Sholto George [Douglas], 19th Earl of Morton, by his wife Hon Helen Geraldine Ponsonby, 4th dau. of Charles Frederick Ashley Cooper [Ponsonby], 2nd Lord de Mauley; and married (i) 20 Oct 1947, Lieut Col Bryan Lynch Leslie Abdy Collins OBE MC (1913-52), by whom she had issue, Thomas Adby Collins, b 1948, and Brian James Douglas Adby Collins, b 1952; married (ii) 16 Nov 1954, Gerald John [Ponsonby], 6th Baron de Mauley (1921-2002).

Funeral Service to take place at Little Faringdon on Tuesday 23 June 2009.

Lady Anne Cowdray, mother of Viscount Cowdray, dies at 95

Lady Anne Cowdray, who has died aged 95, was the 1st wife of the 3rd Viscount Cowdray (1910-95), and was mother of present peer. She was born Lady Anne Pamela Bridgeman, 12 Jun 1913, daughter of the 5th Earl of Bradford (1873-1957), by his wife the Hon Margaret Bruce (1882-1949), dau of the 2nd Baron Aberdare (1851-1929); and married the 3rd Viscount Cowdray in 1939. They divorced in 1950. She leaves a son, Michael, the 4th Viscount (b 17 Jun 1944), and a dau, Mary Teresa, born in 1940.

Lady Page-Wood, who died 5 June, 2009, aged 84, was the widow of Sir David John Hatherley Page Wood, 7th Baronet. She was the former Evelyn Hazel Rosemary Bellville, dau of Capt Ernest George Bellville, and married Sir David (d Nov 1955), in 1947. She assumed by deed poll the additional surname of Page before that of Wood. She leaves issue, Sir Anthony, the 8th Baronet (b 6 Feb 1951), and a dau, Rosemary, b 1948, wife of a Teacher, of the eponymous whisky distilling family (descended from the Macnaghten Bts).

Lady Carrington, wife of the former Foreign Secretary, Lord Carrington, dies

The Baroness Carrington, who died 7 June, 2009, was the wife of the 6th Baron Carrington, KG, GCMG, CH, MC, PC, the former Conservative Government Minister. She was Iona, dau of Lt-Col Sir Francis Kennedy McClean, AFC, and married Peter Alexander Rupert Carington, 6th Baron (cr I, 1796, GB 1797) in 1942, and leaves issue, a son, Rupert, b 2 Dec 1948, and 2 daus, Alexandra and Virginia (the latter was wife between 1973 and 1979 of the 4th Baron Ashcombe). Funeral on Tuesday, 16th June at Holy Trinity Church, Bledlow.

Oliver James Cadbury

Joana C. Cadbury (née Williams) wife of Simon C. Cadbury, (b. 1975), of the chocolate dynasty, gave birth to a son, Oliver James, 5 June, 2009, a brother for Hugo George, who was b 18 Sept 2007. Simon is the son of Mr Peter Hugh George Cadbury, (b. 1943) & his wife, the former Sally Strouvelle, of London, and Joanna is the eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs David Williams, of Newport, Shropshire.

Simon Cadbury is the only sibling of the Duchess of Argyll.

Her husband is SIR CYNLAIS (KENNETH) MORGAN JAMES KCMG (b 1926). They married in 1953 and have two daus.

Michael William Tomson Nott

Michael William Tomson Nott died tragically on April 28th 2009, after a fall while visiting his sister in Los Angeles. He is survived by his wife Pippa, his father Francis and his sister.—Carolyn. He was the son of William Francis Bell NOTT OBE TD (b 1908) of the LG family formerly of Staunton-upon-Wye and Joan dau of Charles Mansham TOMSON of Green Meadow, Charlton Kings, Glos. He married 1963 Phillipa (Pippa) dau of Edward Foster-Mitchell.
His sister Carolyn Mary was b 1939.

Dorothy (Poppy) Rickett, died aged 100 on 5th May 2009 peacefully at The Old Rectory, Ewhurst. Dearly loved mother of Elizabeth and Peter, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was the widow of Harold Robert Norman Rickett CBE TD (1909-69) and dau of E. O. Barry, Lower Kingswood, Surrey. Their son Peter married 1967 (as her 2nd husband, her first was a scion of the Grey Egerton Bts, by whom she had issue) Sarah Jessica (b 1940) dau of Willoughby Rollo NORMAN (son of Sir Henry Norman, 1st Bt (UK 1915) and his 2nd wife the Hon Florence Priscilla McLAREN (dau of 1st Baron Aberconway)) and his 1st wife the Hon Barbara Jacqueline BOOT dau of 2nd Baron Trent (ext 1956). They have two daus.
