Howard John Hipwood, who died 6 June, 2023, aged 73, was a formidable England polo captain and son-in-law of the late 15th Earl of Westmorland.
He was born 24 March, 1950, in Karachi, son of Brian Hipwood and his wife the former Marion Brice; and married firstly, in 1972 (div) Gill Drennan; and married 2ndly, 24 September, 1985, the Lady Camilla Dianan Fane (born 24 December, 1957), daughter of the 15th Earl of Westmorland, GCVO (1924-1993), Master of the Horse 1978-1991, and a Lord in Waiting to Queen Elizabeth II, and his wife the former Jane Barbara Findlay (1928-2009), scion of the Findlay baronets.
Howard Hipwood leaves issue, a son Oliver and daughter Jessica from his first marriage, and a son, Sebastian and a daughter Rosanna from his marriage to Lady Camilla.
