Lt.-Cdr James Philip de Havilland Saumarez died 28 May, 2023. He was 85.
He was born 6 June, 1937, the elder son of Capt Philip Lionel Saumarez, RN, DSC, and his wife the former Elizabeth Patricia O'Connor; and married 1stly, 24 Apr, 1965 (div 1986), Teresa Mary Edwards, daughter of Wallace Grant Edwards; married 2ndly, 1 Oct, 1988, Carol Jane Aspinwall, daughter of Robert Ashton Aspinwall, of Mystic, Connecticut, United States.
