Janet, Lady Devitt (née Ellis), died 2 January, 2026, aged 100.
She was born Janet Lilian Ellis, 10 October, 1925, a daughter of Colonel Hugh Sidney Ellis, CBE, MC (1889-1965), and his wife the former Enid Nicholl (1895-1970); and married 12 December, 1953, as his third wife, Lieutenant-Colonel Sir Thomas Gordon Devitt, 2nd Baronet (1902-1995), son of Arthur Devitt (1867-1921), and grandson of Sir Thomas Lane Devitt, 1st Baronet (1839-1923).
Lady Devitt leaves a daughter, Angela Susan (born 18 Oct, 1954), and a son Sir James Hugh Thomas Devitt, 3rd Baronet (born 18 Sept, 1956).
