The engagement was announced 10 July, 2026, between Ben Welch, only son of Mrs Christine Welch, of Hayling Island, Hampshire, and Mariana Sophia (Molly) Hopkinson-Woolley (born 1999), elder daughter of Charles Bertram Hopkinson-Woolley (born 19 June, 1964), of Lewknor, Oxfordshire, and his wife the former Alexandra D. Molyneux.
Molly Hopkinson-Woolley is of Gaskell LG descent. Her father is a scion of the Twining tea-making family.
