John Edward McKenzie Lucie-Smith, who has died aged 93, was an art critic, writer and poet.
He was born in Jamaica, 27 February, 1933, son of John Dudley Lucie-Smith, OBE (died 10 March, 1943), and his wife the former Mary Frances Lushington (1897-1972), scion of the Lushington baronets.
He never married.
