The engagement was announced 29 August, 2025, between William Thomas Henry Plowden (born 25 February, 1998), scion of that landed gentry family, son of Charles Edward Philip Plowden (born 31 December, 1960), of Humbie, East Lothian, and his wife the former Ruth Hindhaugh, & Daisy Georgia Stanton (born 1998), daughter of William R. Stanton, of Denham, Suffolk, and his wife the former Sophie Stamper.
William Plowden is descended from the 1st Earl of Zetland.
