The engagement was announced 26 August, 2025, between William Oliver Maddock (born 1998), son of Edward James Maddock and his wife the former Philippa Richardson, & Lilac Sarah Watt (born 27 February, 1998), scion of that Irish landed gentry family, daughter of Charles Andrew Watt (born 6 March, 1964), and his wife the former Caroline Pearcey (born 1964).
Lilac Watt is descended from the 3rd Duke of Portland, and is a kinswoman of the late Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother.
