James Patrick Hepburne-Scott, OBE, who died 3 August, 2025, aged 78, was a scion of the Lord Polwarth.
He was born 21 July, 1947, the elder son of the Hon Francis Michael Hepburne-Scott (1920-2010), and his wife the former Marjorie Hamilton Ross (1925-2017); and married 3 March, 1972, Christian Diana Surtees, daughter of Maj John Freville Henry Surtees (1919-1996), and his wife the former Audrey Falkner (who died 15 Aug, 2018), by whom he had issue, two sons, Walter (b 10 May, 1974), and George (born 9 Apr, 1983), and a daughter, Emily (b 27 March, 1977).
James Hepburne-Scott was a grandson of Capt Walter Hepburne-Scott, Master of Polwarth, DL, JP (1890-1942), and was a great-grandson of the 9th Lord Polwarth (1864-1944).
