Desmond Charles Bernard Alexander, who died 13 September, 2025, aged 87, was a scion of the Earls of Caledon.
He was born 7 April, 1938, the second son of Colonel the Hon William Sigismund Patrick Alexander (1895-1972), and his wife the former Jane Hermione Buxton (1913-1967), scion of the Buxton baronets, and was a grandson paternally of the 4th Earl of Caledon (1846-1898); and married 1stly, 1980, Joanna Patricia Vigors (born 1943), scion of that landed gentry family, daughter of Wing Commander Timothy Ashmead Vigors, DFC, RAF (1921-2003), and his 1st wife Janet Ramsay Geoffrey. He is survived by his second wife, Elizabeth. No issue.
