(Muriel Joan) Barbara Benson [nee Kitchiner], who died 16August, 2022, aged 101, was the widow of Nicholas Robin Benson [1922-90], scion of that landed family.
She was born in 1921, a daughter of Alfred Kitchiner, of Bournemouth; and married 1 Oct, 1949, Nicholas Robin Benson [born 2 May, 1922], eldest son of Guy Holford Benson [1888-1975], and his wife Lady Violet Catherine Manners [1888-1971] [widow of Lord Elcho [1884-1916], son and heir of the 11th Earl of Wemyss] and daughter of the 8th Duke of Rutland [1852-1925].
She leaves three sons, Robert, Christopher and Patrick, and a daughter, Penelope.
