The engagement was announced 7 June, 2025, between Thomas Mark Nicholas Faber (born 1992), third son of the late Mark James Julian Faber (1950-1991), and his wife, the former Anne Griffith (now Mrs Annie Muir, of London), & Lucy A. Lyall Grant, only daughter of Sir Mark Justin Lyall Grant, GCMG (born 29 May, 1956), a former senior diplomat who was previously the United Kingdom's National Security Adviser and Permanent Representative of the United Kingdom to the United Nations, by his wife Sheila.
Thomas Faber is a grandson of Julian Tufnell Faber (1917-2002), and his wife the Lady Anne Caroline Macmillan (1923-2016), daughter of the Rt Hon Harold Macmillan, 1st Earl of Stockton, OM, PC, FRS (1894-1986), Prime Minister 1957-63, &c.
