The engagement was announced 7 June, 2025, between Matthew Colin Belcher (born 1988), son of Robert Belcher, of Warwick, and his wife the former Marie Hailey, and Marina Mary Abel Smith (born 26 January, 1991), scion of that landed gentry family, daughter of Charles Ralph Abel Smith (born 1959), of Little Leighs, Essex, and his wife the former Julia Wolton (born 1959).
The bride-to-be is descended from the Barons Raglan:-
