Anita Benedetta Money, who died 1 June, 2025, aged 84, was a scion of the Auden landed gentry family, and was a niece of the poet W.H. Auden.
She was born in 1941, a daughter of John Bicknell Auden (1903-91), the geologist and explorer, and his wife the former Sheila Bonnerjee (1913-2002), a granddaughter of a founding president of the Indian National Congress Womesh Chandra Bonnerjee.
She married in 1968, Lennox B. Money (born 1939), by whom she had a son, Otto Luke (born 1973).
