The engagement was announced 16 September, 2021, between Frederick John Vere Nicoll [born 1993], son of Nigel Edward Vere Nicoll (b 3 Apr 1947), of Meon Stoke, Hampshire, by his former second wife the former Catharine Euphan Waterer, and Dr Elizabeth P [Beth] Harrison, daughter of Mr & Mrs Robert Harrison, of Crickhowell, Powys.
Freddie Vere Nicoll's paternal grandfather, Raymond Guy Vere Nicoll, MC [b 1915], married in 1939 (div 1952) Mary Elizabeth Madden (b 4 Aug 1920), a goddaughter of HM Queen Mary, 4th dau of Admiral of the Fleet Sir Charles Madden, 1st Baronet, GCB, OM, GCVO; & is descended from a sister of the 6th & last Viscount Saye & Sele, &c.
Freddie's mother, Catharine, was married firstly, in 1977 [div 1983] to the Hon John Edward Malet Vaughan [born 3 Oct, 1952], a younger son of the 8th Earl of Lisburne [1918-2014].
