Desmond Morrogh Bernard died 21 September, 2021. He was 82.
He was born 18 June, 1939, son of Lieutenant-Colonel Joseph George Morrogh Bernard [1898-1994], by his wife the former Nancy Mary Charlton, who descended from the Stapleton-Bretherton landed family.
Educated at Ampleforth, he was an officer in the 16th/5th Lancers, and was employed on The Economist and the Rand Daily Mail.
He married 13 January, 1967, Jenefer de Waller, daughter of Rowen de Waller, of Branford, Norfolk, by whom he had issue, two daughters, Camilla and Helen.
