Andrew is a son of Maj and Mrs David Maitland-Makgill-Crichton, of Port of Menteith, Stirling.
Alice, a scion of the Pelly Baronets {Bt, cr UK, 1840}, is a daughter of John Marriott Pelly (b 1953), of Battersea, London, by his wife the former Caroline Mary Griffith.
