_.Celia Helen 'Cherry' Barclay, who died 5 April, 2021, aged 76, was a scion of the Earls Cairns.
She was born 8 May, 1944, daughter of Hugh William Cairns [1911-96], and his wife the former Diana Katherine Soames [1917-97], scion of that landed family, amd sister of Christopher Soames, the life peer the Baron Soames [1920-87].
She was a granddaughter of the Hon Douglas Halyburton Cairns [1867-1936], and his wife Lady Constance Montagu Douglas Scott [1877-1970], daughter of the 6th Duke of Buccleuch [1831-1914].
She married 4 May, 1968, David William Barclay [born 29 Nov, 1942], head of that landed gentry family, of Higham, Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, son of Theodore David Barclay [1906-1981], and his wife the former Anne Millard Bennett [1912-96], by whom she had issue, two children, Robin and Katherine.
