Mary Judith Lister [nee Buxton] 1922-2020

_. Mary Judith Lister, who died 11 December, 2020, aged 98, was a scion of the Buxton baronets. She was born 29 April, 1922, daughter of Leland William Wilberforce Buxton [1884-1967], and his wife the former Ada Mary Oakes [who died 1979]; she married 1stly, 6 June, 1942, Philip Arthur Leo Gompertz [who was killed on actiove service weeks later, 19 Aug 1942], married 2ndly, 18 Aug, 1945, Clement Wynter Lister [who died 6 June, 2010]. Mrs Lister was a granddaughter of Sir [Thomas] Fowell Buxton, 3rd Baronet [1837-1915], and his wife Lady Victoria Noel [1939-1916], daughter of the 1st Earl of Gainsborough [1781-1866]. -=-
