John Alexander Coke, who died 12 December, 2025, aged 79, was a scion of the Earls of Leicester.
He was born 15 June, 1946, the eldest son of Lieutenant-Colonel Gerald Edward Coke, CBE, JP (1907-1990), and his wife the former Patricia Cadogan (1916-1995), scion of the Earls Cadogan.
He was a grandson of the courtier Major the Hon John Spencer Coke, KCVO (1880-1957), Equerry to Queen Mary 1938-53, Gentleman Usher in Ordinary to King George VI , and Extra Usher in Ordinary to Queen Elizabeth II.
He married in 1980 (div, 1987) Karen Johnson.
He was a second cousin twice removed of Sarah Ferguson, lately Duchess of York, and a first cousin once removed of Jack Brooksbank, husband of Princess Eugenie of York.
