_. The engagement was announced 6 March, 2021, between Rowley Philip J Merricks [born 1983], son of [John] Philip Merricks, of The Manor, Icklesham, East Sussex, and his wife, the former Corinne A. O'Brien, & Alice Rebecca Hands [born 1985], daughter of Michael B. Hands, of Water End, Buckinghamshire, and his wife the former Caroline A.P. Bate.
Rowley's mother, Corinne, married firstly, in 1975, John Anchitel Fleetwood Ashburnham [1951-1981], son and heir of Sir Denny Ashburnham, 12th Baronet [1916-1999].
Rowley Merricks is a younger half brother of Sir James Ashburnham, 13th Baronet [b 17 Dec, 1979]
