Lieutenant-Colonel Richard Seymour Corkran 1936-2021

 _. Lieutenant-Colonel Richard Seymour Corkran, OBE, late the Grenadier Guards, died 9 March, 2021, aged 84. 

He was born in 1936, son of Maj Giles Seymour Corkran [1911-1996], of Hailsham, Sussex, descended from the Ricardo landed gentry family, by his wife the former Isabel F.E. Nuttall [1909-68]; and married 14 Oct, 1967, Jane Melanie Paget [born 12 July, 1947], descended from the Earls of Uxbridge [now Marquesses of Anglesey], daughter of John Francis Paget [1903-89], and his wife the former Ann Millicent Blundell, by whom he had issue, two daughters, Claire Melanie born 1973], and Alexandra Frances Louise [born 1976].

Richard Corkran was a grandson paternally of Major General Sir Charles Edward Corkran, KCVO, CB, CMG [1872-1939], who served as Major-General commanding the Brigade of Guards and General Officer Commanding London District from 1928 to 1932. Sir Charles married in 1904, Winifred Maud Ricardo [1880-1972], a niece of Amy Ricardo [1847-79], wife of the 7th Duke of Richmond and Gordon, &c.
