_. Christine Clark, who died 28 September, 2020, aged 94, at Clovelly, was a scion of the Earls of Oxford & Asquith, and a granddaughter of the British prime minister Herbert Henry Asquith.
She was born Christine Asquith, 23 March, 1926, daughter of Brigadier-General the Hon Arthur Melland Asquith, DSO [1883-1939], by his wife the Hon Betty Constance Manners [1889-1962].
Her paternal grandfather, Herbert Asquith [1852-1928], was prime minister 1908-1916, and in 1925 was created the first Earl of Oxford & Asquith. Her maternal grandfather was the 3rd Baron Manners [1852-1927].
She married 29 November, 1952, John Hatch Clark [who died 1997], son of Sydney Hatch Clark, by whom she had issue, a son and two daughters.
