_. Anne, Viscountess Norwich, who died 4 July, 2020, aged 91, was the first wife of John Julius, 2nd Viscount Norwich, CVO [1929-2018].
She was born 5 January, 1929, eldest of the three daughters of the Hon Sir Bede Edmund Hugh Clifford, GCMG, CB, MVO [1890-1969], by his wife the former Alice Devin Gundry.
She married 5 Aug, 1952 [divorced 1985], the then Hon John Julius Cooper [born 15 Sept, 1929], the writer and broadcaster as John Julius Norwich, son and heir of the 1st Viscount Norwich, GCMG, DSO, PC [1890-1954], by his wife the former Lady Diana Olivia Winifred Maud Manners [1892-1986], popularly known as 'Lady Diana Cooper' the great beauty, often photographed by Beaton, &c. Lady Diana, officially a daughter of the 8th Duke of Rutland, was actally daughter of Harry Cust.
Her husband succeeded his father, 1 January, 1954, as 2nd Viscount Norwich, and he died 1 June, 2018.
Anne Norwich leaves a son, Jason Charles Duff Bede Cooper, 3rd Viscount Norwich [born 27 Oct, 1959], and a daughter the Hon Artemis Clare Antonia Opportune Cooper, FRSL, writer, who was born 22 Apr, 1953, wife of Sir Antony Beevor, FRSL [born 14 Dec, 1946], the military historian.
