_. Ralph Desmond (Rafael 'Desi') Heriot Maitland, who died at his home in Argentina, 17 June, 2018, aged 88, was a scion of the Earls of Lauderdale.
He was born 18 February, 1930, the only son of Ralph Lionel Heriot Maitland MC (1895-1935), by his wife the former Helen Moira Jefferies (she married 2ndly, George Scott, and died 1985); married 30 Apr, 1955, Annelise Moira, eldest daughter of Eric Henry Atkinson, of Hurlingham, Buenos Aires, by whom he had issue.
