Major David Alwyne Carne Rasch, late the Grenadier Guards, who died at his home 27 November, 2005, aged 83, was a scion of the Rasch Baronets (created 1903)
He was born in 1922, a son of Brigadier Guy Elland Carne Rasch, CVO, DSO, and was a grandson of the 1st Baronet, Sir Frederick, a Conservative MP. David's elder brother was Sir Richard Rasch, 3rd Baronet (1918-96).
Maj. Rascjh married in 1953 Lady (Elizabeth) Anne Somerset, daughter of Henry Somerset, scion of the Dukes of Beaufort, and sister of David Somerset, who succeeded his kinsman in 1984 as 11th Duke of Beaufort. His wife, now deceased, was raised to the rank of a duke's daughter.
He is survived by three children, Guy (b. 1959); Jane (b. 1955) and Emma (b. 1962).
