Lady Cowperthwaite, who died at London's Cromwell Hospital, 13 February, 2006, was the widow of Sir John James Cowperthwaite, KBE, CMG, Financial Secretary, Hong Kong 1961-71, who died 21 January, 2006.
She was the former Sheila Mary Thomson, daughter of Alexander Thomson, of Aberdeen, and married the colonial administrator in 1941; and had one son.
