John Philip Brooke-Little, CVO

John Brooke-Little, CVO, Norroy and Ulster King of Arms, Registrar and Knight Attendant on the Most Illustrious Order of St Patrick, 1980-95; Librarian, 1974-94, and Treasurer, 1978-95, College of Arms; Clarenceux King of Arms, 1995-97; died 13 February, 2006. He was 78.
John Philip Brooke-Little was born 6 April, 1927, the son of Raymond Brooke-Little, of Unicorns House, Swalcliffe, and educated at Clayesmore School; New College, Oxford (MA).
Career:->Earl Marshal's staff 1952-53; Gold Staff Officer, Coronation 1953; Bluemantle Pursuivant of Arms, 1956-67; Richmond Herald, 1967-80; Registrar, College of Arms, 1974-82; Director, Heralds' Museum; Hon Editor, The Coat of Arms from 1950; Fellow, Society of Genealogists, 1969; President, English Language Literary Trust, 1985-96; Governor Emeritus, Clayesmore School (Chairman, 1971-83): &c.
He was appointed MVO, 1969; CVO 1984; FSA 1961; KStJ, 1975; Knight of Malta, 1955; Knight Grand Cross of Grace and Devotion, Order of Malta, 1964, &c.
He married in 1960, Mary Lee, daughter of John Raymond Pierce, by whom he had three sons and one daughter.

The funeral mass will be held in the Holy Trinity Church, Hethe, near Bicester, on Thursday 23 February 2006, followed by burial in St Mary's Churchyard, Lower Heyford.
