The engagement was announced, 18 October, 2005, between Matthew Hancock, son of Mr Michael Hancock and Mrs Shirley Carter, of Cheshire, and Martha Harriet Alice Hoyer Millar (b. 1976) only daughter of the Hon. Alastair James Harold Hoyer Millar, (b. 1936), & Mrs Hoyer Millar, of London.
Martha Hoyer Millar is a granddaughter paternally of the 1st Baron Inchyra, GCMG, CVO, (1900-89), & a niece of the 2nd Baron; & is a great-granddaughter (through her mother's maternal family) of the 1st Viscount Camrose.
