Lady Young, who died 8 April, 2026, was the widow of Lieutenant-General Sir David (Tod) Young, KBE, CB, DFC (1926-2000).
She was born in 1929 as Joanna Torin, a daughter of Major Lionel Henry Torin (1887-1967), and his wife the former Katharine Theodora Gordon-Duff (1903-2002), scion of that landed gentry family; and married 1stly, 1954, Geoffrey Oyler (1915-1981); and married 2ndly, 1988, as his second wife, Lt.-Gen. Sir David Young, KBE, CB, DFC, who died 9 January, 2000. She leaves issue from her first marriage.
