The engagement was announced 8 April, 2026, between Thomas Patrick Abel Smith (born 1993), scion of that landed gentry family, son of the late (Bertram) Robin Abel Smith (1938-2009), and his wife the former Diana Marjorie Fielder Forsell, of Rotherby, Leicestershire, & Roberta M. Siggers, daughter of Mark James Siggers (born Jan 1955), of Warfield, Berkshire, and Mrs Siggers.
