The engagement was announced 7 March, 2026, between Christopher Bentley Barnett (born Oct, 1996), son of Antony Barnett, of Bath, and his wife the former Katharine Young, & Emily Sarah Baring (born 11 September, 1998), scion of the Baring baronets, daughter of Edward Richard Philip Baring (born September, 1962), of London, and his wife the former Marianne Stanton.
Emily's father, Edward Baring, is a younger half-brother of the 4th Viscount Astor.
