The engagement was announced 24 September, 2025, between Marcus Robert Francis Hill (born 3 July, 1994), scion of the Marquesses of Downshire, eldest son of Lord Anthony Ian Hill (born 20 Oct, 1961), and Annabel, Lady Anthony Hill (born 7 Dec, 1965, nee Annabel Priscilla Angela Nall-Cain), scion of the Barons Brocket, & Octavia Flora Thomson (born 1997) daughter of Patrick M. Thomson, and his wife the former Anna Kathryn Redwood (born 6 January, 1967), scion of the Redwood baronets, daughter of Sir Peter Boverton Redwood, 3rd Baronet (born 1 December, 1937).
Marcus Hill is a grandson paternally of the late 8th Marquess of Downshire (1929-2003), and a great-grandson of the 2nd Baron Brocket (1904-1967).
