Donald Maxwell Macdonald, who died 23 September, 2023, aged 84, was a scion of the Earls of Ducie.
He was born 9 November, 1938, the second son of John Maxwell Macdonald (19th) of Largie (1908-1995), and his wife Dame Anne Stirling-Maxwell, 11th Baronetess (a rarity in the peerage) (1906-2011), and was a younger brother of Sir John Ronald Maxwell Macdonald of Largie, 12th Baronet (born 22 May, 1936); and married twice, firstly, 8 Sept, 1962 (div 1976), Rosemary Carol Jenkins, daughter of (Arthur) Robert Jenkins, CBE (1908-1989), and Margaret Fitton Jones (1908-98); married 2ndly, 1977, Margaret Anne Kingerley (b 1939), daughter of Alfred William Kingerley (1907-90), and Hilda Muriel Webb (1908-2001). He leaves a son and a daughter from his first marriage, James Donald Maxwell Macdonald (born 1 Sept, 1965), and Harriet Maxwell Macdonald (born 7 Feb, 1967).
