He was born 21 July, 1928, son of Sir Norman Pringle, 9th Baronet (1903-61), by his wife the former Winifred Olive Curran, and succeeded to the baronetcy on his father's death, 8 Feb, 1961. Married 5 September, 1953, Jacqueline Marie, only child of Wilfrid Hugh Gladwell, by whom he had issue. The baronetcy (Bt cr 1682, Nova Scotia) passes to his elder son, Simon Robert Pringle, who was born 6 January, 1959. He was appointed KCB (Mil) 1982. -=-

Princess Elisabeth of Hesse, who died 12 Apr, 2013, aged 69, was a former wife Prof Prince Otto of Hesse (1937-98), a great-great grandson of Queen Victoria. She was born Elisabeth Bonker,at Rumburg, Czechoslovakia, 31 Jan 1944, daughter of Wilhlem Bonker by his wife Elisabeth Nagel, and married Prince Otto (morganatically) 28 Dec 1988. The marriage ended in divorce in 1994. Isn't it pretentious and silly for long dethroned Royal Houses not to recognise the marriages of their members with commoners as equal? Surely all the wives of current heirs of the existing thrones in Europe and Scandinavia would (except Britain) have been regarded as morganatic or unequal in days of old? -==-

Succeeded to the barony (cr UK, 1887) and baronetcy (cr UK, 1866), on his father's demise, 10 July, 1978. Married Dec 1970, Susan Maria Marcia Kennedy (d 21 Feb, 2003), daughter of Maj Gen Sir John Kennedy, of Temple Sowerby Manor, Penrith, Cumberland. There were no children of the marriage. The peerage and baronetcy devolve upon his Lordship's nephew, James Piers Southwell St Aubyn, who was born 6 June, 1950. -=-

Death of Lady Rashleigh, wife of Sir Richard Rashleigh, 6th Baronet

._ Lady Rashleigh, who died at her home, 30 March, 2013, was chatelaine of Menabilly, Cornwall, the Georgian house from which Daphne Du Maurier drew her 'Manderley' in her classic novel 'Rebecca'.

Lady Rashleigh was the wife of Sir Richard Harry Rashleigh, 6th Baronet (b 8 Jul 1958), (Bart, UK, cr 1831), of Menabilly, Parr, Cornwall.

Lady Rashleigh was born Emma Felicity Clare McGougan, the elder daughter of the late John McGougan, of London, by his former wife the former Jennifer Dyke (who married 2ndly, 1987, Sir Antony Arthur Acland, KG, GCMG, GCVO (scion of the Acland Baronets, cr UK, 1890).

She is survived by her husband and two children.

New private secretary for HRH Prince Harry

_. Prince Harry, increasing his work load as a senior member of the Royal Family,  has appointed a private secretary. The fellow is Capt Edward Lane Fox, 36, late the Blues & Royals, scion of the Lane Fox family, of Bramham Park, Boston Spa, West Yorkshire.

Edward Lane Fox, an army officer for several years and from a family long associated with the army, is the third and youngest son of the late George and Victoria Lane Fox, of Bramham Park, and was born in 1976.

Capt Lane Fox has two elder brothers, Nick, who now runs the family estate, and is married to Rachel Baring, a member of banking family, and James.

Edward's paternal grandmother was the Hon Marcia Agnes Mary Lane Fox (b. 4 Sept, 1904-d. at Leeds, West Yorkshire, 9 January, 1980), eldest of the four daughters of the first Baron Bingley (1870-1947); she married 3 Oct, 1929, Lt-Col Francis Gordon Ward-Jackson,Vice-Lord Lieutenant of West Yorkshire, 1968-74 (b. 14 Oct, 1899, d. 1989, aged 89) (who assumed the surname of Lane Fox in lieu of Jackson by deed poll in 1937).

_.Louisa M. Parker Bowles (nee Arnold), wife of Sam William Francis Parker Bowles [b 1981], scion of the Earls of Macclesfield, gave birth to a daughter, Poppy Elsbeth Rose, 29 March, 2013.

Sam Parker Bowles is a son of Simon Humphrey Parker Bowles [b 1941] by his wife the former Carolyn Potter, and is a nephew of Brig Andrew Parker Bowles, former husband of HRH The Duchess of Cornwall.

Diana Mary Miller, suo jure Baroness Fauconberg & Conyers 1920-2013

_. Diana Mary Miller (nee Pelham), suo jure Baroness Fauconberg & Conyers, died 2 March, 2013. She was 92. She was born 5 July, 1920, as Lady Diana Mary Pelham, elder daughter of the 5th Earl of Yarborough (who was 14th Baron Conyers and 7th Baron Fauconberg), by his wife the former Nancy Brocklehurst(d 1977). On her father's demise, 7 Feb, 1948, his baronies fell into abeyance between his two daughters, and the abeyance terminated, 17 May, 2012, with the death of the younger daughter, Lady June Wendy Lycett. Lady Diana married 15 Nov, 1952, Robert Miller, of Harare, Zimbabwe, who died in 1990. Lady Fauconberg & Conyers had two daughters, the Hon Marcia Anne MILLER, renamed on adoption as Anthea Theresa LYCETT (b 21 June 1954). She was adopted by her mother's sister. She is unm and lives in Gloucestershire, and the Hon Beatrix Diana MILLER (b 23 Aug 1955). She m 1991 Simon William JONES ARMSTRONG (d 2012) and has two sons: Guy William Robert (b 1996) and Matthew Charles (b 1998). They live in Kenya. The peerages now fall into abeyance between the Hon Anthea Lycett and the Hon Beatrix Diana Armstrong. -=-
