He was born in 1939, son of Percy Robert Stewart Walsham (1904-1988), and his wife the former Tamara Ellis (died 1981); and succeeded to the baronetcy (cr UK, 1831), on 14 July, 2011, on the death of his cousin, Sir Timothy Walsham, 5th Baronet (1939-2011); and was unmarried, and the baronetcy becomes extinct.

_. The 3rd Viscount Davidson died 27 September, 2019. He was 85.

Malcolm William Mackenzie Davidson was born 28 August, 1934, the second son of the 1st Viscount Davidson, GCVO, CH, CB, PC [1889-1970], by his wife the former Hon Frances Joan Dickinson, DBE [who was given a life peerage as Baroness Northchurch].

He married in 1970, Mrs [Evelyn[ Anne Carew Perfect, the second daughter of William Blackmore Storey, by whom he had issue, a son, Nicholas, and a daughter, Sophie.

Malcolm Davidson succeeded his elder brother as 3rd Viscount Davidson, 20 July, 2012.

His only son, the Hon [John] Nicholas Alexander Davidson, who was born in 1971, succeeds as 4th Viscount.

Donald James Nicholls was born 25 January, 1933, the son of William Greenhow Nicholls [1902-93], by his wife the former Eleanor Jane Looney [1895-1939]; married 1960, Jennifer Mary Thomas [born 1935], daughter of William Ewart Chambers Thomas [1899-1973], by his wife the former Enid M. Jones, by whom he had issue, two sons and a daughter.

He was appointed a Lord of Appeal in Ordinary in 1994 and created a life peer as Baron Nicholls of Birkenhead, of Stoke d'Abernon in the County of Surrey.

Nathalie Brooke (née Benckendorff) [1923- 2019]

_. Nathalie Brooke (née Benckendorff) who died 16 September, 2019, aged 97, was the widow of art historian Humphrey Brooke, CVO [1914-1988], and was a granddaughter of Alexander Konstantinovich Benckendorff [1849-1917], the Russian Empire's last ambassador to the United Kingdom.

Nathalie's mother was the harpist Maria Korchinska. Her father was Count Constantine Benckendorff.

She leaves grandchildren Alexander and Nicholas Dale, Beatrice O'Connell and Leo Dugdale.

The funeral will be held at St Peter's Church, Clapham Manor Street, SW4 6BX, on 7 Oct.. Interment in Claydon, Suffolk at a later date.

_. The 7th Viscount Southwell, a peer in the Peerage of Ireland, died 23 September, 2019, aged 89.

[Pyers] Anthony Joseph Southwell was born 14 September, 1930, son of the Hon Francis Joseph Southwell [1900-1953] by his wife the former Agnes Mary Annette Clifford, 
and succeeded to the family honours on the death of his uncle, the 6th Viscount, 18 November, 1960.

He married 3 Dec, 1955, Barbara Jacqueline Raynes, daughter of Andrew Raynes, of Harpenden, Co Hertford, by whom he had issue, two sons.

The peerages now devolve on the elder son, the Hon Richard Andrew Pyers Southwell, who was born 15 June, 1956.

_, Anna Gascoyne-Cecil, who died 30 August, 2019, was the actress Anna Sharkey, who appeared in The Avengers [1961], Rumpole of the Bailey [1978], &c. She was the second wife, and widow of actor Jonathan Cecil [1939-2011], a scion of the Marquesses of Salisbury, son of Lord David Cecil [1902-86], by his wife the former Rachel McCarthy.

She married Jonathan Cecil in 1976. There were no children of the marriage.

Sir Peter Forwood, 4th Baronet 1925-2019

_, Sir Peter Forwood, 4th and last Baronet, late the Welsh Guards, died 12 September, 2019. He was 93.

He was born 15 October, 1925, son of Arthur Noel Forwood [1881-1960] [3rd son of the 1st Baronet], by his second wife the former Hyacinth Pollard.

The baronetcy was created in 1895 for Sir Arthur Forwood, Conservative MP for Lancashire [SW] Ormskirk, who was secretary to the Admiralty 1886-92.

He succeeded to the baronetcy on the death of his cousin, Maj Sir Dudley Forwood, 3rd Baronet, in January, 2001. Sir Dudley was the sole Equerry to HRH The Duke of Windsor after his abdication in 1936 until the outbreak of the Second World War, and was present at the duke's marriage to Mrs Wallis Simpson, in France, in June, 1937.

He married in 1950, Helen Roy Murphy, daughter of James Murphy, MBE, FRCS, of Horsham Sussex, by whom he had six daughters.

The baronetcy now becomes extinct.

The funeral takes place at the Church of St Anthony & St George, Duncton, West Sussex, 4 October, 2019.

Sir [Charles Mansfield]Tobias Clarke, 6th Baronet 1939-2019

_. Sir [Charles Mansfield] Tobias Clarke, 6th Baronet, died 16 September, 2019. Sir Toby, as he was known, was the 6th holder of the baronetcy created for Queen Adelaide's physician in 1831.

He adopted the additional forename of Tobias in 1962 and succeeded his father in 1973.

He was a vice-president of the Standing Council of Baronetage, and founder of the The Baronets' Journal.

He was born 8 September, 1939, the son of Sir Humphrey Clarke, 5th Baronet and was educated at Eton, Christ Church, Oxford, La Sorbonne, and New York University.

He founded The Baronets' Journal in 1987 and from 1993 to 1996 he was chairman of the Standing Council of the Baronetage Bankers Trust Co.

Through his grandmother, Elfrida Roosevelt (Lady Clarke, wife of Sir Orme Bigland Clarke, Bt. CBE) he is related to U.S. President Theodore Roosevelt. President Roosevelt is his first cousin, three times removed. He is also the second cousin, three times removed to President Franklin D. Roosevelt.

He married firstly, 1971 [div 1979] Charlotte, daughter of Roderick Walter; married secondly, 1984,  [later div] Teresa Loraine Aphrodite de Chair, scion of that landed family, daughter of Somerset de Chair, and a sister-in-law of the Rt Hon Jacob Rees-Mogg, PC, MP.

Sir Toby leaves three children from his second marriage, Theodora Roosevelt Clarke (born 4 August 1985), Augusta Elfrida Clarke (born 25 April 1987) and Olympic athlete Lawrence Somerset Clarke (born 12 March 1990).

The baronetcy now passes to his only son.

Major Jeremy Ingham Whitaker 1934-2019

_. Major Jeremy Whitaker, died 9 September, 2019, aged 84. The 17 year-old Lady Diana Spencer took up her first job as a nanny to his baby daughter, Alexandra, back in 1979, at his Land of Nod estate, at Headley Down, Hampshire.

Jeremy Inhgam Whitaker was born 10 November, 1934, son of Major Leith Ingham Tomkins Whitaker [1907-1971], by his wife the former Myrtle Clare Van de Weyer [1910-1997], a great-granddaughter of the 2nd Earl of Craven; he served in the Coldstream Guards; he married Philippa van Straubenzee [born 1944], scion of that landed family, daughter of Lt-Col Henry van Straubenzee [1914-2002], by his wife the former Angela Fenwick [1918-2000], descended from the Dukes of Manchester, by whom he had issue, a son Benjamin [born 17 Apr, 1979], and two daughters, Alexandra [born 27 June, 1975], and Camilla [born 31 May, 1980].

A Service of Thanksgiving will be held at St. Luke's Church, Grayshott on Tuesday 5 November 2019.

Princess Alexandra von Preussen 1947-2019

Princess Alexandra von Preussen [nee Blahova], who died 8 September, 2019, aged 71, was the wife of a member of a descendant of the Royal House of Prussia, Prince William Andrew von Preussen [born 14 Nov, 1947], a grandson of the last German Crown Prince and a great-grandson of Wilhelm II, German Emperor.

She was born Alexandra Blahova, 28 December, 1947, at Brno, Czechoslovakia, daughter of Frantisek Blahova by his wife the former Vlasta Dokoupilova, and married firstly, 17 Nov, 1972 [divorced 1979], Tom Alsbett [born 1949]; married secondly, 2 January, 1979, Prince William Andrew von Preussen [b 1947],  son of Friedrich Georg Wilhelm Christoph, Prince of Prussia [1911-66], by his wife the former Lady Brigid Katherine Rachel Guinness [1920-95], daughter of the 2nd Earl of Iveagh [1874-1967].

She is survived by her husband and by a son, Friedrich Alexander [born 28 Nov, 1984]. and Tatiana Brigid Honor [Tanya] [born 16 Oct 1980].

William Duckworth-Chad is a second cousin of HRH The Duke of Cambridge and HRH The Duke of Sussex, all being great-grandchildren of the 7th Earl Spencer [1892-1975].

Lucy Duckworth-Chad is a daughter of Sir Edward Greenwell, 4th Baronet [born 1948].

Jopling/Goulding marriage

The marriage took place, 31 August, 2019, at York Minster, between Caspar William Fletcher Jopling (born 1992), son of the Hon Nicholas Mark Fletcher Jopling (b 1961), of North Yorkshire, by his former wife the former Jayne Mackay Benson (b 1966) (now Mrs Jayne Warde-Aldam, of North Yorkshire), & Elena Jane (Ellie) Goulding (born 30 Dec, 1986), the pop star Ellie Goulding, daughter of Arthur E.J. Goulding (born 1959), of Herefordshire, by his former wife the former Tracey L Clark (b 1964) (now Mrs Tracey Sumner).

Caspar Jopling is a grandson of the life peer Baron Jopling, PC (b 1930), who, as Michael Jopling, was Conservative MP for Westmorland 1964-83, and for Westmorland and Lonsdale, 1983-97, and was Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries & Food, 1983-87.

Lady Jopling was the former Gail Dickinson, daughter of Ernest Dickinson, of Harrogate, North Yorkshire.

The wedding reception took place at Castle Howard, York.

_. Hans Anders Rausing, KBE, who died 30 August, 2019, aged 93, was a Swedish businessman and philanthropist based in the United Kingdom. He made his fortune from his co-inheritance of Tetra Pak, a company founded by his father Ruben Rausing, and the largest food packaging company in the world.

Born 25 March, 1926. In 1995 he sold his share of the company to his brother, Gad. In the Forbes world fortune ranking, Rausing was placed at number 83 with an estimated fortune of US$10 billion in 2011.

According to Forbes, he was the second richest Swedish billionaire in 2013. By the time of his death in August 2019, Forbes estimated the net worth of Rausing and his family to be $12 billion.
