The engagement was announced 10 July, 2023, between William Aldwyn (Sandy) Soames (born 30 January, 1960), of Wandsworth, scion of that landed gentry family, elder son of Robert Harold Soames (1929-2015), of Layer Marney House, near Kelvedon, Essex, and his wife the former Charlotte Susan Scott (1937-1996), and Mrs Nicki Rhodes, also of Wandsworth, SW17.
Sandy Soames married firstly, 1993 (div) the Hon Camilla Mary Lara Crossley (born 27 June, 1967), second daughter of the 3rd Baron Somerleyton, GCVO (1928-2012), of Somerleyton Hall, Suffolk, and his wife the former Belinda Maris Loyd (1939-2018).
