_. [William] George Fearnley-Whittingstall, who died 15 March, 2021, aged 87, was a scion of that landed gentry family.
He was born 18 Jan, 1934, son of Lieutenant-Colonel William Arthur Fearnley-Whittingstall (1903-1959), and his wife the former Margaret Nancy Morphew (1907-79); and married 1960, Daphne Maureen Shortt (b 1940), daughter of Dr Cyril de Vere Shortt (1908-97), of Overbrook, Winchcombe, Gloucester, and his wife the former Ethna Eirene Collins (1911-97), by whom he had issue, three daughters.
