_. The Hon Elizabeth Mary Fairbairn, who died at Edinburgh, 18 March, 2021, aged 82, was a scion of the Lords Reay.
She was born the Hon Elizabeth Mary Mackay, 21 June, 1938, elder daughter of Æneas Alexander Mackay, 13th Lord Reay [1905-63], and his wife the former Charlotte Mary Younger [died 2000].
She married 29 Sept, 1962 [div 1979], Nicholas Hardwick Fairbairn of Fordell, MP [1933-95] [he was knighted in 1988], Conservative MP for Kinross & Western Perthshire 1974-83, and then for Perth & Kinross 1983-95, and sometime the controversial Solicitor General for Scotland, by whom she had issue, five children, Charlotte [born 1963], Micheline [1963-1964], Edward [born and died 1965], Anna [born 1966], and Francesca [born 1969].
Her husband was a son of Dr William Ronald Dodds Fairbairn, and his wife Mary Ann More-Gordon.
