Sir Richard Thorn Pease, 3rd Baronet 1922-2021

 _. Sir Richard Pease, 3rd Baronet, died 9 March, 2021. He was 98.

Sir Richard, of Hindley House, Stocksfield-on-Tyne, Northumberland, was chairman of the Yorkshire Bank, 1986-90, and a Deputy Lieutenant of Northumberland.

Richard Thorn Pease was born 20 May, 1922, the son of Sir Richard Arthur Pease, 2nd Baronet [1890-1969], and his 1st wife the former Jeannette Thorn Kissel [died 3 Nov, 1957], daughter of Gustav Kissel, of New York, and he succeeded to the baronetcy [created in 1920], on his father's death, 13 November, 1969.

His sister, Aileen [1919-2010], was Countess of Inchcape, wife of the 3rd Earl of Inchcape [1917-94].

Career: served with the 60th Rifles, in the Middle East, Italy and Greece 1941-46 [Captain]; Director: Owners of the Middlesbrough Estate Ltd 1954-86; Director of Barclays Bank 1964-89; Bank of Scotland 1977-85; Grainger Trust PLC 1986-94; Vice-Chairman, Barclays Bank 1970-82; Barclays Bank UK Management, 1971-82; Chairman of the Foreign and Colonial High Income Trust, 1990-92; DL, Northumberland, 1990, &c.

He married 9 March, 1956, Anne Heyworth, daughter of Lt-Col Reginald Francis Heyworth [1896-1941], and his wife the former Hon Moyra Marjoribanks, daughter of the 3rd Baron Tweedmouth [1874-1935], by whom he had issue, a son, Richard, and two daughters, Carolyn [born 1957], and Nichola [born 1961], who is wife of Crispin Odey [born 1959], the multi-millionaire hedge fund manager. The son, Richard [born 4 September, 1958], now succeeds as 4th baronet.
