_. The Hon Philippa Catherine Hulbert-Powell, who died 15 February, 2021, aged 98, was a scion of the Barons St Levan.
She was born Philippa Catherine St Aubyn, 19 June, 1922, second daughter of Francis St Aubyn, the 3rd Baron St Levan [1895-1978], of St Michael's Mount, Penzance, Cornwall, and his wife the former Hon Clementina Gwendolen Nicolson [1896-1995], scion of the Barons Carnock.
Philippa was a niece of the writer, biographer, diarist the Hon Sir Harold Nicolson [1886-1968], and his wife the Hon Vita Sackville-West [1892-1962].
She married 20 July, 1948, Evelyn Charles Lacy Hulbert-Powell [who died 1985], head of the landed gentry family of that name, son of the Rev Canon Charles Lacy Hulbert-Powell [d 1959], and his wife the former Eva Catherine Hone [1875-1957], by whom she had issue, two sons, Charles [born 1952] and Francis [born 1961], and three daughters, Elizabeth [1950-2019], Veronica [b 1954] and Teresa [b 1956].
