_. Rowena, Baroness Northbrook, who died 27 April, 2020, aged 93, was the widow of the 5th Baron Northbrook, a member of the Baring dynasty.
She was born in London in 1926, as Rowena Manning, daughter Brigadier-General Sir William Henry Manning, GCMG, KBE, CB [1863-1932], colonial adminstrator, by his wife, nee Sefton-Jones.
She married 27 January, 1951, Francis John Baring, 5th Baron Northbrook [1915-1990], and was widowed 4 Dec, 1990. Her husband was a deputy lieutenant and JP for Hampshire.
Lady Northbrook leaves a son, Francis, the 6th Baron Northbrook [born 1954], and three daughters, Laura [born 1952], Alexandra [born 1957], and Catherine [born 1965].
