The engagement was announced 4 October, 2005, between John Francis Buckler Noel Lethbridge (b. 10 March, 1977), son and heir of Sir Thomas Periam Hector Noel Lethbridge, 7th Baronet, of Newmarket, Suffolk, & Susan Lady Lethbridge, of Milverton, Somerset, & Nicola E. Barkas, 1st daughter of Lieutenant-Colonel and Mrs Anthony Barkas, of Hardwick, Oxfordshire.
