Lieutenant-Col. Henry Kendal Perceval [Hal] Chavasse, MBE, who died at his home in County Waterford, 21 February, 2022, aged 88, was head of that Irish landed gentry family. He served with the Royal Irish Rangers.
He was born 22 September, 1933, son of Colonel Kendal George Fleming Chavasse [1904-2001], and his wife the former Oonagh Hyacinthe Perceval-Maxwell [d 1994], of that landed gentry family; and married 1 Aug, 1959, [Iris] Claire Crozier [deceased], daughter of Maj. Francis George Crozier [1901-1987], and his wife the former Morna Louise Brooks [1910-1993], by whom he had issue, three sons, Charles [b 3 Aug 1961], Daniel [b 21 Oct 1962], and Desmond [b 4 May 1966]. The eldest son succeeds as head of the landed family.
