_.Sir Charles Fergusson of Kilkerran, 9th Baronet, died 30 March, 2021. He was 89.
He was born 10 May, 1931, son of Sir James Fergusson of Kilkerran, 8th Baronet [1904-73], and his wife the former Louise Frances Balfour Stratford Dugdale [d 1988], a descendant of the Dukes of Argyll.
He succeeded to the baronetcy on his father's death, 25 Oct, 1973.
Sir Charles married 15 July, 1961, the Hon Amanda Mary Noel-Paton [born 1933], daughter of life peer Victor Noel-Paton, Baron Ferrier [1900-1992], by his wife the former Joane Mary Wiles [1907-84]. Lord Ferrier was one of the first life peers to be created in 1958.
Sir Charles, of Kilkerran, Maybole, Ayrshire, is survived by Lady Fergusson and two sons, Adam [b 1962], and Joseph [b 1965]. The baronetcy now passes to the elder son, Adam Fergusson of Kilkerran, Yr [who was born 29 Dec, 1962].
