_. The Hon Moira Rank, who died 22 April, 2021, aged 101, was a scion of the extinct Barons Southborough.
She was born Moira Hopwood, 13 December, 1919, daughter of the Hon Sir Francis John Hopwood [1897-1982], sometime managing director of Shell Transport, and his wife the former Audrey Evelyn Dorothy Money. Her father succeeded as 3rd Baron Southborough on the death of his falf-brother, in 1960. The title became extict in 1982 with the death od her brother, Francis, 4th Baron.
She married firstly, 26 June 1940, Flight Lieutenant Peter Anthony Woodwark, RAFVR [who was killed in action, 17 Oct, 1943], the eldest son of Colonel Sir Stanley Woodwark, CMG, CBE, MD, FRCP; she married 2ndly, 14 February, 1946, Joseph McArthur Rank [died 1999], of Hartfield, Sussex, elder son of the late Rowland Rank, and had issue from both marriages.
