_. Paul Brandram, a descendant of the Royal House of the Hellenes, died at his home, 9 May, 2020. He was 72, and a godson of the Duke of Edinburgh.
Richard Paul George Andrew Brandram, head of that landed gentry family, formerly of Bickley, was a grandson maternally of Constantine I, King of the Hellenes [1868-1923], and was a nephew of George II, King of the Hellenes [1890-1947], and King Paul -1901-64], and a first cousin of the exiled King Constantine II and Queen Sofia of Spain.
The Old Etonian Paul Brandram was born 1 April, 1948, son of Maj Richard Campbell Andrew Brandram, MC [1911-94], of Marlow, Buckinghamshire, by his wife HRH Princess Katherine of Greece and Denmark [1913-2007]. Princess Katherine renounced the style and title of HRH and Princess upon her marriage, 21 Apr, 1947, and was granted by Royal Warrant, 9 Sept, 1947, the style, title, rank, precedence and dignity of the daughter of a Duke, and was known as Lady Katherine Brandram.
Paul Brandram married 1stly, in London, 1975, Jennifer Diane Steele (born 1951, now Mrs Robert Enslow) daughter of Lt-Col Robert Steele (1920-95) by his wife the former Gyllian Diane Greville-Williams (1922-2001), by whom he had issue. He married 2ndly, 19 Sept, 2009, Mrs Katherine [Kate] Warhurst, daughter of Thomas Moreton.
Mr Brandram leaves issue from his first marriage, one son, Nicholas George [born 1982], & 2 daughters, Sophia [born 1981], and Alexia [born 1985], and a stepson, Henry John C. Wahurst [born 1984].
