_. Lt-Col Thomas Christopher Peter Brooke, late the Irish Guards, died 14 May, 2020, aged 81.
He was born in 1938, son of Peter Maurice Hewlett Brooke [1903-1985], of Gifford Hall, Broughton Gifford, co Wilts, by his wife the former Mary Gwenllian Blandy Norton [1906-90], descended from the Irish landed gentry family of Blandy, formerly of Inglewood and Kingston Bagpuize.
He married 1stly, 1968 [divorced 1988], Penelope Eve Butler, scion of the Butler baronets, daughter of Colonel Richard Shirley Butler [1907-1988], by his wife the former Auriol Lilian Evelyn Biddle [1915-2005]; married 2ndly, 1988, Susan H. Purvis.
From his first marriage he had a son, James.
